I took Aubagio and got it free through the patient assistance program. I took it for 2 years and I never paid anything and it was delivered to my house.

It seems like if you have private insurance, most drug manufacturers offer some sort of co-pay assistance. The meds I've been on have all been covered through that. Outside of that, I don't know. None of them are inexpensive (outside of any insurance or assistance).

Disease-modifying therapies (DMTs) are essential medications for managing MS. While they can be expensive, there are several patient assistance programs offered directly by drug manufacturers that can help make these medications more affordable or even free for those who qualify.

Before your appointment, prepare a list of questions about different DMT options, including:
- Injectable medications like interferon beta 1a and glatiramer acetate
- Your preferences for medication administration (injection vs. oral)
- Potential side effects and risks
- Cost assistance programs During MS flare-ups, your doctor may prescribe corticosteroids like methylprednisolone, which are generally safe and effective when taken for short periods. Additionally, there are medications available to help manage specific MS symptoms like:
- Muscle spasticity
- Bowel and bladder dysfunction
- Vertigo
- Tremors
- Pain

Consider bringing an advocate to your appointment to help you remember important information and take notes about treatment options and assistance programs discussed.
