I’ve been getting the tight feeling in my chest and it gets difficult to take a deep breath. What’re some ways to maneuver through that when experiencing’MS hug’?

I get them also, haven't had one in a few months. I did have one earlier this year around 4:00 a.m.; in the morning, it lasted about an hour and a half but thankfully the pain went away and i came to realize that these were Ms hugs because I've been to the emergency room several times since 2008 with the same feeling of like having a panic attack. Each time, they checked everything and couldn't find anything. I was getting really frustrated until I came to this site and found out about this phenomenon called MS hug, then I put 2 and 2 together and came to realize, that's what I've been experiencing!

• Speaking with your neurologist about medication options Important: Since MS hug symptoms can feel similar to a heart attack, seek immediate medical attention if you experience:

• Severe chest pain or tightness
• Pain radiating through upper body
• Sudden cold sweats
• Irregular or rapid heartbeat
• Severe nausea or dizziness

Your doctor can help determine if symptoms are MS-related and recommend the best treatment plan for your specific situation.

I get them, too, throughout my torso, and sometimes over my heart. It’s scary. I hope they resolve swiftly!
