Last week, a man on this site mentioned this-it's basically the only thing that's helped him.

I agree though my insurance would not cover it bc I don't have ADHD nor Narcolepsy. My work performance has greatly improved on it as I am more able to stay focused.

Are you wondering if Adderall (amphetamine/dextroamphetamine) might help with MS-related fatigue?

Many MyMSTeam members have shared their experiences with Adderall for fatigue. Here's what some have reported:

Positive experiences:
- "Adderall has worked great for me as well. It gets my mind to focus."
- "It keeps me focused, and I feel I stay a lot more productive during the day."

Challenges to consider:
- "I take it when I need it, but only if it's before 8 a.m. Otherwise, I don't sleep."
- "If I don't time it just right, I do think it affects my sleep pattern."

Adderall is prescribed off-label for MS fatigue, meaning it's not FDA-approved for this specific use. It's a Schedule 2 controlled substance with higher risks for abuse and dependency, so doctors are careful when prescribing it.

Common side effects include changes in appetite, fast or pounding heartbeat, and insomnia. Timing your dose carefully is important to avoid sleep disruption.

Talk with your neurologist about whether Adderall might be right for you, considering both the potential benefits and risks. They can help you weigh your options and monitor for any side effects.

It causes me to focus in so much that it almost makes me feel drowsy. I definitely feel like I get more done off of it! But I do like Provigal! I guess also because I abused Adderall in my past when it did give me energy (years ago)! That’s probably the biggest reason my brain doesn’t respond right to it! lol! 😂🤷‍♀️

I have taken adderall for approximately 16 years. I am on a pretty high dose of instant release 3x daily. I really feel it helps me on daily functioning. I believe it would be miserable if I didn't. It can interfere with sleep significantly.
