I have transition poles throughout my house. One beside my bed one beside the toilet. Worn by the shower...
I always have something secure to grab onto and pull myself up. I choose to be the chair most of the day but I can get up and I can take a step but very shaky. There is also canopies that go over the bed that will allow you to grab onto and swing your feet to the floor. You just have to figure out what's right for you. The transition poles are on Amazon for a $130. There held in place with tension. Therefore you can put them between any Stud+ Floor. Hope it's helpful have a good day
Hi. This is very now for me! I am recently out of hospital following a fall. I was using a rollator but seriously thinking wheelchair when this happened . Bed is now in lounge and I need a standing hoist to get out of bed and transfer to chair. Mention is made of full body hoist eventually. All very scary and depressing. So, adjustable bed..,,carers transferring me using a hoist…my legs won’t support my body anymore
Our bed is tall so getting out of it is easy for me. I do sleep mostly in my recliner.. Not a chair that turns to a bed (I have looked at those).
Are you having trouble getting in and out of bed due to MS-related mobility challenges?
Many MyMSTeam members have found that ease of movement is a crucial factor when choosing where to sleep. Some have switched to sleeping in chairs or on couches when their beds become too difficult to manage.
