In the U.S. you generally don’t have to tell your employer your diagnosis unless you want to. If you ask for accommodations (reduced hours, flexibility, etc.), the company can ask for medical documentation, but it usually goes through HR and medical information has to be kept confidential under the ADA.

That said, disclosure can sometimes help protect you. For example if you need formal accommodations or if symptoms might affect attendance or performance later.

In my experience it really comes down to trust. Some employers I trusted completely and had no issue sharing. Others I wouldn’t have told unless I absolutely had to.

If symptoms start affecting your work, it’s often better to request accommodations sooner rather than later. If an employer doesn’t know there’s a medical issue, they can treat performance problems as normal performance issues. In fact that happened to me except the symptoms were happening before I knew it was MS and I just thought it was due to depression and that I couldn't stand the people who I reported to.

I think I would be weary of disclosing that information. There are concerns if your employer may let you go after releasing that. The Ai response is good. Take care, @A MyMSTeam Member.

I don’t see the use in a neuropsychologist. I did tell my employer, and they tried to move my job to a different one. You don’t have to tell them anything.
