Members responded to the question about buying AFOs from Amazon with a range of mixed experiences, with most agreeing that professionally fitted braces tend to work better than generic online options. Several members shared that Amazon braces offered little relief or caused issues like calf cramps, while a few found success with specific brands like BraceAbility and Niivira, and one noted a big improvement after switching to a carbon fiber brace fitted by a professional. A recurring theme was the encouragement to check with insurance, visit a podiatrist or orthotist, and consider compression socks as a helpful alternative.

Bought a few braces for SAFos on Amazon and they did little. When I got the carbon fiber one done by a professional it did make a difference. Hope that helps.

I bought the Dosh brand a few months ago. It literally did nothing. Whenever I’m on facebook, there’s ad after ad of AFO or some gimmick promising relief. I feel like they prey on desperate people. Cadence is one of them.

Eran, both pieces fit well, but the Strap to connect did not seem to provide enough lift to justify wearing it. Also, it is a lot of Velcro and since I need assistance with everything, it was very difficult to do. Recently, I saw an orthopedist for both my knee and my elbow. And now I am considering seeing somebody about my foot drop as well. I have bought several products online but feel that getting medical grade equipment designed specifically for you. Seems to be better in the long run.
