I have tried PT, PRP, steroid shots. I can’t ride a stationary bike, swim, walk—nothing. Has anyone had surgery? Was it successful? I had back surgery in 2019 and it did little to help. I am so frustrated. Thank you for your answers ahead of time.

That sounds incredibly frustrating, especially when you've already tried so many options. Chronic ankle tendinitis with MS is a tough combination, and it's completely understandable to feel stuck.

That sounds incredibly frustrating, especially when you've already tried so many options. Chronic ankle tendinitis with MS is a tough combination, and it's completely understandable to feel stuck.

Since PT, PRP, and steroid shots haven't worked, it may be worth asking your neurologist for a referral to a specialist who focuses specifically on tendon issues. They can help determine if surgery is appropriate for your situation.

A few things worth discussing with your care team:
- Whether a brace or splint could offer temporary relief and support movement
- Occupational therapy to help reorganize daily activities to reduce strain
- Whether any current MS medications could be contributing to tendon issues
- Core strengthening, if possible, since strong core muscles can reduce pressure on the lower body As for surgery, a MyMSTeam member shared that MS can sometimes complicate surgical outcomes, which may explain your 2019 experience. That doesn't mean surgery is off the table, but it's worth having a very detailed conversation with a surgeon who understands MS specifically.

Always check with your doctor before trying anything new, especially given your history. You deserve real answers and real relief. 💙

it probably has nothing to do with the MS.. you have vertebrae that are misaligned.. called scoliosis.. mine was d/g when I was 13 years old.. saw a chiropractor for many many years.. then finally had a stent put in the vertebrae.. no more back pain.. find a good orthopedic surgeon for this

SamiraGhazal2, Have you tried Lidocaine patches? Also, The Tylenol fast acting gel caps? They have a spray OTC that is offered as well. What about TENS type vibratory machines? Good luck and I appreciate your efforts to care for yourself.😍

any issue I had with my back issues were handled as an adolescent.. didn't know I had MS till I was 36.. but, it gave the answer for all the other issues I dealt with.. dizzy spells, double vision, balance..etc.. I was born with my spine out of alignment.. finally had a stent put in 4lth and 5th lumbar and no more back pain.. more active after that
