Hi there,
I struggle with my speech quite a bit. Sometimes I have trouble with slurring and making the right word sounds, this however is when I am at my worst. Usually I will forget words, have difficulty forming sentences, and the most common thing I do it mix up my words (for example: saying remote instead of phone). One of the biggest things that helps me is playing a lot brain games. There are a lot of free games online and free apps that will help you with your brain function. Also, you may want to ask your doctor about speech therapy if you feel like your speech and cognitive skills are really disrupting your life. I went to speech therapy for a couple of months and it really did help me to make strategies for my memory and my speech therapist gave me good ideas to help me keep my mind sharp. Since MS effects the brain it is a good idea to exercise it and to build up your mental muscle. :)
I hope this was helpful, and I hope you will be able to overcome this soon.
Much love and blessings,
Guin
Yes many times I will have a problem remembering words or with correctly getting my thoughts across. My doctor explained to imagine you have an electric line in your brain wave, sends a signal from a to b to c, your brain has a tear in the line and tries to go over that tear and can not always do this so you do not get it out properly, but five minutes later may come out perfectly.
yes I have trouble speaking,so my husband does all the ordering, because sometimes they don't understand me.
I do have trouble with volume and mucus in throat
Thank you Guin. I will check into rhat.
