I have two kids, ages 3 and 6. My husband has always wanted 3 kids. I was pretty sure I was done having children especially being diagnosed with MS last year but I am starting to feel like I will regret it if I don’t try. I’m having vivid dreams I’m pregnant But I’m also nervous about the extreme fatigue I feel everyday and the fact that I work full time and come home to my two kids every day. Anyone have any advice?

I'm having a similar circumstance. I'm the mother of a beautiful six year old little girl but my husband has a desire to have another child... he really wants a little boy. My biological clock is ticking... I'll be 40 in September. The fatigue and other MS Symptoms are telling me don't do it but my heart is telling me to do it before it's for late. I hate MS ☹️

I think stress = more flare ups. So you need to ask your spouse what they are willing to give up or change so you can get through the next 3 years as stress free as possible .... and have a third child.

I don't know what that looks like but it might be that you may need to sell your home or get a room mate or move to a cheaper apartment ....... and/or you may need to sell one of your cars. ... all to afford a full time nanny. Your mom or cousin or friend of a friend may need to move in to help you out by watching the babies and kids for 8 hours a day.

If it was me I would not attempt it unless we could have someone watch the kids so I could get a solid uninterrupted 8 hours of sleep and only work 20 hours a week.

There are so many ways you can make a family. There are thousands of children who will probably never be adopted just because they are no longer a baby or little kid. Just because you adopt them will not make them any less your kids. Love is what makes a family, not blood. Adopting a 3-8 year old would give you that third kid without the crazy/exhausting sleepless baby nights or tiring times when kids have the zoomies at two. Also it would not physically stress out your body by going through pregnancy. I would absolutely risk a bad MS attack to have one child but you are already blessed with two. I would also happily adopt!!! Like I said love makes a family and there are many ways to make a family.

Lastly I would ask your neurologist for their honest opinion on if going through a third pregnancy is a good idea. I read somewhere you have a 50% chance of having a MS flare up in the first 6 months after giving birth ..... but it doesn’t predict the severity of the flare up.

You also need to consider if your marriage can survive you having a severe attack ..., if you can have one and not resent your spouse? Also it would effect your two children. So I think your neurologist and some honest conversations with your spouse might be the place to start.

You are thinking about this alot and I think thats why you are dreaming about it. Cant really offer advice..just think of the present and long term for what you can offer your current kids. To be truly happy you have to be honest with yourself.

Always remember you know your body best and if it is saying no that, well, means no. And if it is saying Maybe that, well, also means no.
