I reread it. I think you are asking 'Do brain lesions getting smaller mean it's (MS) getting worse?

I think it's always good if the lesion is smaller. But just ask the neuro to explain it to you by comparing to prior mris.

In one of the retrospective studies their conclusión was 'WML shrinking seems to be related to waning of acute inflammation.'

Waning -decreasing of Inflammation

So honestly it may be a good sign

At the end of your report what did the radiologist conclude?
Also sometimes the neuro doesn't always agree with radiologist that reads your mri.
