I haven't yet checked out "noise cancelling" headphones. I think I would really like those!

Noise bothers me so I wear earplugs to cut it down if I'm going somewhere noisy

Yes, headaches are very common in people with MS, affecting 50-60% of people with the condition. Sensitivity to sounds (along with light) is particularly common with MS-related headaches, especially during migraine episodes. These headaches can be intense and disruptive to daily activities.

Many people with MS report that environmental triggers like loud sounds can bring on or worsen their headaches. This sensitivity can make normal activities challenging when exposed to loud music or noise. While MS can cause headaches, it's important to discuss these symptoms with your healthcare provider. They can help determine if your headaches are related to MS, evaluate their severity, and recommend appropriate treatment options to help manage the pain and sound sensitivity. Some people find relief through medication or by avoiding triggers like loud environments.
