It's important to understand that supplements alone cannot treat or prevent MS progression. While a normal MRI may be encouraging, you should still discuss any supplements you're taking with your healthcare provider, especially if you're on disease-modifying therapies (DMTs).

Many supplement labels make promises that are too good to be true. There's no scientific evidence that supplements can slow MS progression or reduce relapses, unlike DMTs which have undergone extensive clinical trials. Some vitamins and minerals can actually interfere with MS treatments. Be particularly careful with:

• Vitamin A
• B vitamins (B1, B2, B6, biotin)
• Selenium
• Zinc
• Magnesium
• Copper
• Manganese

Always inform your neurologist about any supplements you're taking to avoid potential drug interactions and ensure they don't reduce the effectiveness of your prescribed medications.
