I took Aubagio for 2 years and stopped a year ago. I was getting it through patient assistance and wanted to talk to my doctor before I applied again. She told me because of my age she wasn't going to prescribe anything. I have had no new lesions since 2018 (when I was diagnosed), no relapses. I do have difficulties with many things. I take nothing now for my ms and haven't for a year. I did stop cold turkey but you should check with your doctor.

Aging!! How did we get here?
I'm going to have an MRI in July. Maybe if there is no change, I can have a serious talk with my Neur. about quitting DMT's. I don't know why I'm so anxious to stop them. I guess I will take his advice and keep on them if I have to but I do want to change to one with less side effects. Currently, I'm taking Vumerity (3yrs) and still have side effects - flushing being the worse. Flushing sounds so innocent yet I feel like 1000 bees are stinging me where ever I turn red and 'flush'. This lasts for about 10 - 15 minutes after I take Vumerity and I take it twice a day!! No one seems to think this is a big deal but I'm really tired of it. I'm going to a new MS Neuro and maybe he'll help me.
I, too, can still walk and talk (maybe not while chewing gum) but my balance has been off lately and I use a cane sometimes but don't need it all the time. We've had such severe weather here in the South and I really believe if the barometric pressure would stabilize, I'd be better balance wise.

I’m 70 Dx when I was 33. I stopped 4 years ago when pandemic came. My last DMT was Tecfidera before that Betaseron in beginning. My MRIs have no change over all these years. Now I have to deal with aging. Like MS a new surprise around every corner. I can still walk and talk. I’m doing well.

Thank you. I have been taking shots and pills for about 20 of my 35 years of MS and am just plain sick of it!
